About me

Evelyn Budd is an innovation consultant, designer, and educator with an expertise that combines practical and quality design.

She connects her clients with the excellent writers, editors, proofreaders, photographers, illustrators, website providers and printers. Evelyn recognises and appreciates that their experience makes the publishing of quality books and ebooks worry-free.

Evelyn has worked in the publishing and marketing fields since 1988 and has published hundreds of books and magazines as well as thousands of projects such as catalogues, annual reports, signage, websites, logos and marketing materials for businesses and organizations.

After her first computer course in 1971 at Carleton University she was offered a position in the newly created computer department at the Bank of Canada. She turned it down…(sigh)  because it meant “sitting in front of a computer all day”.  A decade later she was volunteering in the computer lab at Henry Larson Elementary School and spending a lot of time in front of a trusty Apple IIE honing computer skills as a volunteer. She loved it so much she enrolled in marketing and graphic design at Algonquin College. Evelyn attained her Registered Graphic Designers designation  in 2003.

What is a registered graphic designer (RGD)?

The RGD designation is your assurance of an experienced and qualified professional. Professional graphic design effectively positions products or services in the marketplace. Good design can make a company more visible, more sophisticated, smarter, faster, more powerful and more desirable than the competition. Professional graphic design ensures a fully integrated solution that conveys the concept, the message and the positioning of your organization. A Registered Graphic Designer partners with you to integrate every phase of your communication needs. Registered Graphic Designers have the expertise that can help your organization communicate, sell and profit. They are knowledgeable in areas of communications, technology and business. RGDs are governed by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the Association. (From Registered Graphic Designers of Ontario )
